Enrolling at UW as a Freshman Student
Whether you are planning on attending UW straight out of high school, or are making the decision to go to college for the first time later in life, UW can provide the academic and social opportunities you seek.
You are considered a freshman student if you are a high school graduate, a GED recipient, or completed a home school curriculum and are a first-time college student. Students who took college coursework while in high school are considered freshmen. Students who have taken college coursework since graduating high school, but have fewer than 30 transferable semester credit hours are considered transfers, but must also provide high school academic records.
The Process
The following steps will guide you through the freshman admission process:
- Review the admission requirements.
- Complete your application for admission, including submission of academic transcripts and test scores.
- Pay the application fee.
- Check your application status.
- Admitted? Log on to your Destination You-W interactive checklist on WyoWeb. Through that portal you can take the next steps towards enrolling at UW once you confirm your enrollment.
- Coming a later semester? Defer your enrollment.
