Horse Judging Contests

Spring Contests

Voge Quarter Horses Spring Contest

This contest aims to start the new team for the fall season. The team will judge 9 classes and give 4 sets of reasons. This contest is held in Oklahoma City, OK in April.

Fall Contests

All American Quarter Horse Congress

This show is the largest and longest breed show in the world. AQHA Congress is our first contest in the fall semester. It is held in Columbus, Ohio in October. Students will judge 12 classes and give 5-6 sets of reasons.

American Quarter Horse World Show

This contest is held in Oklahoma City, OK during the month of November. Students will judge 12 classes and give 6 sets of reasons. Unique to this contest, students will typically judge roping and working cow classes.

NRHA Futurity

This contest is held in Oklahoma City, OK at the end of November. This is a specialized contest where the team only judges and scores reining horses. This contest is different than other contests because there are no oral reasons given. Instead it mimics the testing process of becoming a carded judge. The team judges and scores 20 live reining runs, then will take a penalty clip test and a rulebook exam.
