How To Get Involved!
Congrats! As a fee-paying student at the University of Wyoming, you're automatically a member of the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW). This membership gives you the opportunity to get involved in a variety of ASUW committees and University committees. These are not elected positions and are open to all students interested and excited to make an impact at UW. By joining, you’ll have a direct role in shaping programming and decision-making at UW. If you're interested, fill out the committee application form.

Ready to make a difference at UW? Run for an ASUW elected position! The ASUW President, Vice President and Senators are all voted into office by their peers—and you may just be the perfect fit! ASUW hosts several info sessions early in the spring semester to help you learn about the roles and responsibilities of the President, the Vice President and Senators, as well as the election rules and guidelines. Campaign season kicks off from March to April, so get ready to make an impact!

ASUW offers a variety of programs and partners with numerous organizations across the University of Wyoming, all dedicated to enhancing and enriching the student experience. Students are not only welcome but encouraged to get involved in the programs they’re passionate about. Whether you’re interested in leadership, advocacy or community-building, there’s a place for you to make a difference. By joining ASUW’s efforts, you’ll contribute to the continuous growth and betterment of UW’s student life.

ASUW programs are initiatives designed to enhance student life at UW. Created and continuously supported by the student government, these programs address various aspects of campus life, all with the goal of improving the overall student experience.

The First-Year Senate is open to all first-year students interested in student government, looking for campus involvement and eager to make a difference.
NTSC advocates on the unique needs of non-traditional UW students by identifying concerns, raising awareness and providing a collective voice. Open to all non-traditional students.
Student Legal Services offers free, confidential legal assistance to full-fee paying UW students. These services cover various legal issues and provide helpful legal education.
What We Do and Why We Do It
ASUW plays a key role in much that happens at UW. ASUW uses our budget to fund initiatives that improve campus life, including nearly $140,000 for student events and $100,000 for special projects. We serve as a liaison between students and administration, advocating for student interests.
Whether allocating funds or speaking up for student initiatives ASUW diligently works to operate with fairness, transparency and inclusivity to enhance the college experience for all UW students.

Executive Branch
The executive branch is made up of executive officers and is responsible for implementing ASUW’s initiatives and policies.

The legislative branch is composed of elected student representatives from each college, making up the ASUW Senate. This body is responsible for representing student interests.
Judicial Branch
The Judicial Council interprets ASUW’s constitution and oversees all judicial matters within the organization to maintain fairness and integrity.

ASUW supports events at the Wyoming Union through Student Technical Services. ASTEC provides PA systems, lighting and projection equipment for a variety of events. Complete a request form to get started.
First-Year Senate represents first-year students at UW, reviewing legislature, addressing campus issues and collaborating with ASUW Senators. Participants gain valuable leadership and networking opportunities.
ASUW provides free shuttles to Denver International Airport (DIA) at the start and end of fall and spring semesters. Students must submit an application if they are interested in reserving a spot.
