Nearly one in three students attending UW is a non-traditional student. These students make up a diverse group with a variety of life experiences, backgrounds, skills, responsibilities and needs. To lighten the financial difficulty of students who are parents, the ASUW has created a Child Assistance scholarship. This student must have a child dependent and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship will have a value of $1,000 for one semester and will be awarded the spring semeseter following application. This year, ASUW will be awarding 10 (ten) $1,000 scholarships. Previous recipients are encouraged to apply again with the understanding that each application will be given equal review and consideration.
Each year, ASUW sets aside money from students fees to be used on one-time special requests. This money has in the past funded things such as technology upgrades, artwork for union meeting rooms, and expansion of the UW Bike Library. Requests can be from anyone in the UW community for projects that enhance the campus experience. Requests are due early in the Fall Semester. More information can be found on the Special Projects Application or by emailing the ASUW Director of Finance Joey Cohen at email@example.com. All applications are due October 28th by 5:00pm.
Interested in representing students, but can’t join Senate? We can help!
What is ASUW? ASUW IS WORKING FOR YOU!
Every fee-paying student is a member of the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming. So, ASUW student government acts as the voice of the students. We urge every student to GET INVOLVED, whether it be in student government or in any number of other student organizations.
