John R. Shell Memorial Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship

The Department of Criminal Justice also offers the John R. Shell Memorial Scholarship thanks to the generosity of the John R. Shell family. Each year, one student (a junior or senior) majoring in Criminal Justice can receive a $1,500 scholarship. A faculty committee selects the recipient, based on the conditions that he or she is a Wyoming resident, shows financial need, and aspires to be a police officer.

Applicants must:

• Be a Wyoming Resident and a junior or senior enrolled as a University of Wyoming Criminal Justice major

• Show financial need and have a current, completed FAFSA

• Aspire to become a law enforcement officer

• Submit a resume and a letter of application expressing your interest in the scholarship, career aspirations, and explanation of need
