Quantitative Research Methods Minor


Program Details

The purpose of the minor is to provide graduate students an opportunity to demonstrate a comprehensive expertise in quantitative research methods. Students who are awarded this minor will leave UW with the experiences and knowledge base they need in order to teach research methods at the university level.

This minor requires 16 credit hours of qualitative research method courses and an internship experience in which students co-teach a quantitative methods course with a faculty member. Learn more about our program outcomes.


Required courses include:

  • EDRE 5600 - Research Methods 1:  Descriptive Research (3 credits)
  • EDRE 5610 - Research Methods: Group Comparison Research (3 credits)
  • EDRE 5620 - Research Methods: Correlational Research (3 credits)
  • EDRE 5630 - Research Methods 4: Multivariate Research (3 credits)
  • EDRE 5670 - Mixed Methods Research (3 credits)**
  • EDRE 5580 - Supervised Internship (EDRE 5580 - 1 credit)

**The prerequisite for this course is EDRE 5600 and EDRE 5640. Students will be required to take EDRE 5640 prior to enrolling in this course.
