Quantitative Research Methods Minor

Program Details

The purpose of the minor is to provide graduate students, particularly in education programs, an opportunity to demonstrate a comprehensive expertise in quantitative research methods. Students who are awarded this minor will leave UW with the experiences and knowledge base they need in order to teach research methods at the university level.

The minor is available to all enrolled students in master's or doctoral degree programs.

This minor requires 16 credit hours of qualitative research method courses and an internship experience in which students co-teach a quantitative methods course with a faculty member.  Click here for course schedules and delivery methods.

Required courses include:

  • Research Methods 1:  Descriptive Research (EDRE 5600 - 3 credits)

  • Research Methods: Group Comparison Research (EDRE 5610 - 3 credits)

  • Research Methods: Correlational Research (EDRE 5620 - 3 credits)

  • Research Methods 4: Multivariate Research (EDRE 5630 - 3 credits)
  • Mixed Methods Research (EDRE 5670 - 3 credits)

  • Supervised Internship (EDRE 5580 - 1 credit)
