For Conservatory Users: Community Members

The Williams Conservatory is a lovely place to hold a meeting, get a tour with a community group, visit with family, set up an easel and canvas, or host an event.  We do have limitations on use, which are listed below.

Limitations on use:

• University related special events and functions are possible on the Conservatory grounds as long as these events do not adversely impact the research and teaching functions of the Conservatory.

• Events must be sponsored by a faculty or staff member.

• A refundable security deposit will be required when scheduling the event.  Any damage to the building, grounds, or plant collections will be deducted from the deposit.

• Beer and wine may be served, but are subject to conditions of alcohol consumption on University grounds, including permit acquisition, event insurance, and costs for qualified staff to serve alcohol.  It is the responsibility of the requesting party to coordinate these logistics.  Alcohol may only be served by trained UW employees, who have the right and responsibility to refuse service to anyone who appears intoxicated.

• Alcohol may only be served for 4 hours during an event.

• Conservatory staff members have the final decision on any table arrangements, floor modifications (moving plants, etc.) and set up questions. While the staff aims to help events go as smoothly as possible, they do have the authority to end the event or have UW Police remove unruly attendees if confrontation occurs.

• Clean up is the responsibility of the sponsor.  If clean up is not completed, the sponsor will be charged an hourly rate for Conservatory staff to clean the facility.

• Conservatory staff will be onsite for the duration of the event.

• Send a request to the Conservatory Manager (conservatory@uwyo.edu) more than two weeks in advance of your anticipated event.
