Courses in biology have been developed with several different needs in mind. These courses meet the needs of those who desire a general knowledge of biology for its cultural value, those specializing in areas which require a background in biological sciences, and those selecting biology as a major.

Communication
The bachelor of arts or science in communication will prepare you for a variety of careers and graduate programs. While earning your degree, you are encouraged to pursue internships, where you will gain experience in your field and network with community professionals. Courses are offered onsite, online, and through video or audio conference technology.

Elementary Education
The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education degree is a 120 (minimum) credit-hour program that includes areas of concentration in Creative Arts, Interdisciplinary Early Childhood, American Cultural Diversity, and Individual and Society. It is also possible to complete a minor in Early Childhood, in lieu of the area of concentration requirement. Students pursuing either Interdisciplinary Early Childhood as an area of concentration, or the Early Childhood minor also have the option of adding the Birth -- 8 Endorsement in order to teach on the pre-Kindergarten level.

Medical Laboratory Sciences
This program is designed to build upon any existing accredited medical laboratory technician (MLT) associate’s degree program, as well as offer opportunities for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or other related science.

Secondary Science Education, Biology
As a student in the degree program, you may choose courses in microbial; plant and fungal; animal; ecology; or evolution and genetics. In addition to your biology coursework, you will take specific courses designed to prepare you for becoming an educator in a secondary classroom, grades six through 12 in Wyoming. Upon successful completion of all coursework, and a four-month residency teaching assignment, you may receive an institutional recommendation in secondary science education with an endorsement in biology. Opportunities are also available for adding endorsements in earth science and chemistry.

Social Work
The Division of Social Work prepares students for entry-level generalist social work practice. Graduates receive a bachelor of social work (BSW), and are prepared to work as generalist social work practitioners with individuals, groups, families, organizations, communities, and institutions.
