Message from the director

Indy Burke, Director, Haub School of ENRThe University of Wyoming's (UW) Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources advances the understanding and resolution of environment and natural resource issues through innovative, interdisciplinary teaching, collaborative decision making support, and dissemination of sound research and information. The school is supported by a state that values its university with generous investment. We're also supported by faculty with a depth of natural resources expertise and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research and education.

Wyoming and the western U.S. enjoy an unparalleled richness of natural resources, and we face many complex challenges regarding the management of those resources. This complexity provides an opportunity for our faculty, students, and staff to work with partners to learn about issues, to bring knowledge to bear on those issues, and to facilitate collaborative decision making.

The Haub School offers a variety of opportunities. Students of our academic programs get into the field in Wyoming and work on international issues abroad. They engage in hands-on experiences that shape their futures as broad thinkers in natural resource science and management. The Ruckelshaus Institute initiatives provide important information and balanced processes to support engaged citizens and decision makers working on natural resource issues. Our new Biodiversity Institute fosters understanding and appreciation of biodiversity through scientific and creative discovery.
