On Campus Interview (OCI) Employer Policies & Procedures

The On Campus Interview (OCI) program provides employers the opportunity to interview current University of Wyoming College of Law students for immediate, summer, and postgraduate positions. For Fall 2015, interviews may be scheduled on weekdays from September 4-October 16, 2015. Due to our small class size, most interview schedules can be accommodated with half-day schedules.  We are also able to accommodate teleconference and videoconference interview requests.  If you prefer to simply receive resumes, you can participate by requesting a Resume Collect.  All participating employers’ opportunities will be posted in UW Law Career Connections (Sympicity CSM) under the OCI tab, which will become available for student viewing and application submission on July 15, 2015.  Please return the Fall 2015 OCI Registration as soon as your organization determines its needs.    To be eligible to participate in Fall 2015 OCI, students must:

  • Have completed their first year of law school.
  • Have a resume approved that reflects their current class year and expected graduation date. It is highly encouraged that this resume also include the cumulative law school GPA and class rank.  Applicants may still choose to submit an alternate resume.

Offer Timing Policies

If your organization chooses to participate in Fall OCI or conducts interviews based on a Resume Collect during the Fall Semester, we require that any job offers made to students for anything beyond immediate employment (begin work within 30 days) be left open for three weeks (21 days). For any employment beginning within thirty (30) days, the offer must be left open for at least three (3) days.

If your organization chooses to participate in Spring OCI for Summer or Postgraduate hiring or conducts interviews based on a Resume Collect during the Spring Semester, we require that any job offers made to students for anything beyond immediate employment (begin work within 30 days) be left open for two weeks (14 days). For any employment beginning within thirty (30) days, the offer must be left open for at least three (3) days.

Given the small size of the OCPD staff, these open offer windows will provide the time for candidates to thoughtfully consider offers and consult with OCPD staff and College of Law administrators and faculty about their options.

Dates for Spring 2016 OCI will be determined in Fall 2015.  In addition to current 2L and 3L students, 1L students will be eligible to participate in Spring OCI opportunities if your organization is interested.
