EPA's Revised Proposed Carbon Pollution Standard

On September, 20, 2013, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy signed a notice submitting the EPA’s revised Proposed Carbon Pollution Standard for New Power Plants for publication in the Federal Register. While not the official version, a copy of the proposed rule is currently available on the EPA's website. The revised rule proposes to regulate carbon emissions from coal fired and natural gas fired power plants, with separate standards for each.

Comments on the proposed standard will be accepted for 60 days after the publication in the Federal Register.
