Righetti Appointed to National Task Force

The White House Council on Environmental Quality announced today that Tara Righetti has been appointed to the new Carbon Dioxide Capture, Utilization, and Sequestration Federal Lands and Outer Continental Shelf Permitting Task Force. The task force will provide recommendations to the Federal government on permitting and community issues related to carbon capture, utilization, and sequestration projects.

Righetti is a professor of law in the UW College of Law and Occidental Chair in Energy and Environmental Policies in the UW School of Energy Resources (SER) and the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources.

Of the 35 members appointed to the task force, three are from Wyoming. Besides Righetti, these include Sweetwater County Land Use Director Eric Bingham and State Senator Affie Ellis of Senate District 8 in Laramie County.
