The University of Wyoming improved its score in the Sustainable Endowments Institute
(SEI) annual green report card process that rates sustainability programs at colleges
and universities nationwide.
Institutions are rated on an A to F scale in several different areas of sustainability.
UW received an A in both student involvement and investments, and earned a B overall,
an improvement over the B- received last year.
"The annual report card helps us know where to direct our efforts and to recognize
areas of accomplishment" says Jim Scott, co-chair of the Campus Sustainability Committee.
"We hope for continued incremental improvement next year," Scott adds. "Breaking into
the A category will rank us with Ivy League and other institutions that have very
established and well-funded sustainability programs. We are confident we can make
that happen, which will be a very satisfying accomplishment."
