form at https://www.uwyo.edu/nursing/alumni/alumni-distinguished/index.html. Nomination deadline has been changed to MAY 1st annually.
Serve
Consider serving on our Alumni Nursing Chapter Board or committees. Email us with
your interest at uwnursingalumni@uwyo.edu.
Volunteer as a mentor
What does being a mentor involve?
Serve on a mentoring panel for the Basic BSN program
The school has a mentoring panel each fall during Homecoming weekend. The panel is
composed of nurses representing a variety of nursing professions. Each nurse has a
time to tell about his/her profession. After each has spoken, students have the opportunity
to ask questions.
Serve on a mentoring panel for the BRAND accelerated program.
The BRAND (accelerated second-degree bachelors of science in nursing) program invites
a mentoring panel each spring for the BRAND students specifically.
Volunteer to speak on your nursing career at a Student Nurses Association (SNA) meeting
Volunteer to participate in a University of Wyoming Alumni Association online networking event.
Volunteer to be a mentor for an individual student interested in your career field.
This could include merely being available by email to answer questions, or could
mean meeting with a student over coffee to encourage and guide them in their career
path. This could also mean inviting a student to shadow you in your work.
