UW/CC CENTER STAFF RECEIVE RECOGNITION

At a recent ceremony in Laramie, several members of the University of Wyoming/Casper College (UW/CC) Center staff were recognized for their service to the university.

Jim Logue, senior computer support specialist, received recognition for ten years of service. Office assistant Angela Reddick and UW Student Educational Opportunity’s coordinator of student advising Lori Brown-Wirth were both recognized for five years of employment.

Norma Murphy, senior office assistant, received the prestigious UW Off-Campus award.

Dianne Davis, coordinator of student advising and long-time member of the UW community in Casper, was named Outstanding External Contributor by the UW Division of Student Affairs. Davis has served UW students in Casper since 1988.

Congratulations to these award-winning UW/CC Center employees.

NEW SEMINAR COURSE AND OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY IN THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

Seminar Course: Charles Darwin and the Galapagos Islands: The Evolution of Evolution, 1 credit, Fri. 1-2 p.m. Casper-AS 4900-50 (CRN 16281) Statewide-AS 4900-80 (CRN 16407) Instructors: Scott Seville, Ph.D. and Will Robinson, Ph.D.

Winter Break 2013: This field course will engage students and faculty in reading, discussing, and experiencing the natural history of the Galapagos Islands, the development of the theory of evolution, and the life of Charles Darwin. You will stay much of 11 days on a small yacht, and each day will be spent snorkeling and hiking on the Galapagos Islands. You will travel with a noted Darwinian scholar and Galapagos naturalist to observe and study island geology, and the unique Galapagos flora and fauna including Darwin’s finches, Galapagos tortoises, and marine and desert iguanas. Instructors: Will Robinson, Ph.D. and Scott Seville, Ph.D. More information can be found here.
