Missy Samp

Communications Specialist

Missy joined Institutional Communications as a communications specialist in November 2014. Her job duties entail generating UW news content, including media releases and news videos; editing media releases, audio and video; helping distribute news content on campus and to the media; and handling special assignments.

Missy has been employed at the University of Wyoming since 2002. Other campus departments she has worked in include: the Office of General Counsel, the Honors Program, the former Graduate School and the Wyoming Survey & Analysis Center (WYSAC).

Prior to her employment at UW, Missy worked with health-focused task forces at Ivinson Memorial Hospital, and she consulted with community programs in her job with the Wyoming Department of Health’s Tobacco Prevention Project. She also served as a television news reporter in the northern Panhandle of Nebraska.

Away from the office, Missy enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, volunteering with youth programs at her church, reading, cooking and baking.
