The University of Wyoming's efforts to address climate change will be among information
available during Campus Sustainability Day Wednesday, Oct. 20.
Members of the Campus Sustainability Committee will provide information at a table
in the Wyoming Union breeze way from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m
The focus of this year's event is "the empowerment of individuals and campus communities
to bring about changes that promote sustainability and reduce our carbon footprint
to mitigate climate change," says committee member Kim Zafft.
Information on what UW is doing as an institution to address climate change, plus
tips on what students can do in their personal lives to help UW meet its commitment
to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 will be available.
UW is a charter member of the American College and University Presidents' Climate
Commitment. As such, the university strives to be a leader in finding innovative ways
to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. UW's Climate Action Plan, written by the Campus
Sustainability Committee, includes many opportunities for the engagement of the student
body in addressing this challenge.
