Records Department

The UWPD Records Office produces and maintains all police reports generated by our officers.  The Records Manager is in charge of compiling crime statistics which are tracked through our computer aided dispatch (CAD) system.  These statistics must then be reported to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Education, University Administration, and the general public.

Records Release

Records of UWPD cases can be released to anyone with a valid request form which can be found online.  Records can only be released once the case is closed and the assigned court has sent a disposition.  Personal information of individuals involved may be redacted as necessary.

Request for records must be submitted in writing and may be picked up in person or sent by mail.  There is a charge of 25 cents* per page for copies picked up in person.  For records sent by mail you must send a self addressed pre stamped envelope and submit $2.00* per copy of report.

*Currently the UWPD can only accept cash and checks.

To request a record please call our Records Department at (307) 766-3692 or (307) 766-5788.
