SUBMITTING A CLAIM

If you receive medical care abroad and pay out-of-pocket, you must file a claim with the insurance company to be reimbursed.

To file a claim:

  • Call one of these numbers for On Call International:
    • Free from anywhere in the world:  (978) 651-9219
    • Free from the US or Canada:   (833) 808-0251
  • Identify the purpose/reason for the call (say you have medical expenses and want to be reimbursed for the cost).
    • The On Call International representative will take your information, give you a claim number (write it down!), and explain the process
      • Ask the representative to email this information to you, so you have it on file
    • They will ask you to submit all receipts and documentation, to support the claim.
  • Once the claim is filed, On Call will submit the information for review and the insurance company claims department will process the claim.

If there are any issues with this process or you do not receive assistance (be sure you submit all of the required materials!), email Ms. Kimberly Flowers in the UW Risk Management Office for assistance.
