The Division of Student Affairs works collaboratively with all divisions across the University of
Wyoming to ensure the highest measures of student success are achieved by providing an
exceptional co-curricular learning experience for all UW students. The breadth and scope of
work within the division is extensive, and we are committed to sharing the incredible academic,
personal, and community learning that happens as a result of the services and opportunities we
provide. As such, the following division learning outcomes capture fundamental components of
the learning that happens for the students and communities served by the division of Student
Affairs.
Each department within the division is guided to articulate program specific learning outcomes
through assessing the following components of audience served, scope of program, the
application of what is learned, and the level of behavior modification.
Participants will have the opportunity to attain knowledge and skills to become
leaders with integrity who take seriously the perspectives of others and
contribute to positive solutions.
Participants will begin or continue the lifelong endeavor of self-improvement
and practice integrity, respect, decision-making, values identification, and
receive feedback to fulfill personal needs.
Participants will gain skills and resources useful in creating and contributing to
safe, dignified, and interconnected communities. Participants will champion
respectful differences and engage in civil discourse.
Participants will practice social and civic consciousness and responsibility to
better understand how their decisions and actions impact themselves and
others; that they are just and equitable in their treatment of all and accept
responsibility for their learning, behavior, and future success, while challenging
others to do the same.
