150% Resident Tuition graphic

This information is for the Fall 2023/Spring 2024 academic year. Unless otherwise noted, awards listed are for the academic year and not by semester.

All non-resident students who are children of UW graduates will pay tuition at 150% of the resident tuition, which is approximately $13,290 less than the standard non-resident tuition for students taking 12-18 credit hours per semester, based upon the block tuition model. This benefit is awarded for as long as the student is enrolled at UW, and applies to undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and professional work. Qualified students also receive this benefit for enrollment during summer sessions. There are no restrictions on the number of enrolled credit hours. For cost estimates with the Child of Alumni discount, please visit the Cost of Attendance page.

The Child of Alumni Benefit cannot be combined with the Brown and Gold Commitment or any institutional scholarship aid, including those made possible by the University of Wyoming Foundation.

Please note: All University of Wyoming financial awards are only available to eligible admits. The awards are subject to available funding and the approval of the UW Board of Trustees; they reserve the right to change said rates at any time.

Compare Costs

Wondering how UW compares to the other institutions you are currently interested in? Check out this awesome calculator available through College Board. This will give you a completely unbiased comparison. Simply enter in the information it asks for based on the schools you are comparing and select calculate. The "Family Share of Costs" row will give you the estimated cost per school. If you have already been admitted to UW, check out your WyoWeb for up-to-date information related to your award packages.

Residents of Wyoming who are children of UW graduates receive the best rate possible in the way of resident tuition. These students will be considered for the Cowboy Commitment as incoming freshmen, or these available transfer scholarships if they are transferring to UW.

All students wishing to be considered for financial aid must complete the FAFSA and have the results sent to UW. Once received, the Student Financial Aid Office will post an award offer to the student's WyoWeb account.
