Registering for summer classes at UW is simple and easy! Summer course registration is similar to fall and spring registration; however, there are some differences:
Before registering for summer courses, an "Advising Hold" will be placed on your student account, preventing registration. You will need to schedule an appointment with your advisor to discuss summer courses and remove the hold. The hold will be cleared after you complete your advising meeting.
Summer registration opens on March 24th for all student populations.
Summer courses have highly variable start and end dates - make sure to look at the start and end dates of the summer course for which you want to enroll to make sure it will work with your schedule.
Visit UW's summer course website to learn more about summer course offerings, the $400 Level Up Scholarship Program, tuition and fees, housing options and so much more.
If you are unsure of who your advisor is, visit our UW Advising Directory and navigate to your college's academic advising pages. Follow the below steps to navigate through WyoRecords and Banner to find and register for your classes. Click on each step below to learn how to complete that step in the registration process.
Academic advising is mandatory for summer registration. You will have an "Advising Hold" on your student account that will prevent registration until the hold has been cleared. To clear the hold, meet with your advisor to discuss summer classes and your advisor will remove the hold once the advising meeting has been cleared.
Before you can register, all items on the registration checklist must be listed with a green check mark. Students can find the status of any holds through the Navigate app.
Work with your academic advisor to identify degree applicable and appropriate classes for the summer term.
Visit the WyoRecords Portal to start the registration process. Once inside WyoRecords, click the “Registration” tab, then choose “Register for Classes”.
Search for your desired classes with the “Find Classes,” “CRN” (Course Record Number), or “Schedule and Options” tabs. An “Advanced Search” option is also available.
