Scanning
Self-service scanning machines are available in the Reading Room. If you are unable to visit the AHC, staff can scan items and deliver them digitally for a small fee, payable on our patron services payment portal.
Digital Camera Policy
The AHC also allows the use of personal digital cameras in the Reading Room. No flash photography is permitted.
High-Quality Digital Reproductions
Many thousands of items from our collections have already been digitized and are available on our Digital Collections website, Luna. If you would like a digital reproduction of material you find on this site, please submit a request, noting either a description of the item, or providing a hyperlink to the item(s) in question.
You may also purchase high resolution photographic prints, born digital files, and digital copies of audio/visual materials. Duplication can only be completed if condition of original permits. Half of payment is due in advance of work being started on all orders where the quantity ordered exceeds 100, or total fees exceed $100.00. Interest charges to accounts over 60 days in arrears will be at the market rate (to be determined by the University Controller). For labor intensive transfers/duplication (determined at the discretion of the AHC archivists), a $30 surcharge will apply.

- PDF Scans, per page, limit of 250 pages , up to 11"x17”: $1
- Digital Imaging (typically photos and photo negatives), up to 11"x17”, 300 dpi or higher, per item: $15
Toppan Rare Book Library Holdings
- Half-hour (minimum charge): $20
- Hourly: $35
Audio/Visual Materials
- Half-hour (minimum charge): $20
- Hourly: $35
Oversize Materials
Per square foot, limit of 100 square feet
- 300 dpi: $3 per square foot
- 600 dpi: $5 per square foot
Oversize Camera Photography
For items such as maps, architectural drawings, paintings; items too fragile for scanning; and 3D artifacts.
- Hourly (one hour minimum, includes setup and takedown): $75
Born Digital Materials
- Per disk (e.g. unprocessed materials) or per transfer (e.g. processed materials): $10.50
Special Format
For fragile items and special formats such as bound volumes, diaries, scrapbooks, etc.

Photographic Prints
Printed on semi-gloss paper by default. Lightweight matte or heavy matte papers available upon request.

Rush Orders
All duplication services can be rushed for an additional 50% of the original fee.
