Research Interests:

Our primarily research interest centers on the molecular pathogenesis of E. coli O157:H7 and related food-borne pathogens. We focus on how second messenger cyclic dimeric GMP (c-di-GMP) signaling pathway regulated biofilm formation, virulence and colonization of E. coli O157: H7 in gastrointestinal tract of animals. Both conventional microbiological methods and molecular biology techniques including point mutagenesis, gene deletion, real time PCR, immunoblotting, immunohistochemical staining and mammalian cell culture are routinely employed in our research.
