The Student Art League (SAL) is an all-inclusive and welcoming group of student members that support individual artmaking, group learning activities, and service to the Art and Art History area and the UW campus at large. As a recognized organization of ASUW (Associated Students of the University of Wyoming), they organize events such as Croquis (weekly extra-curricular figure drawing sessions for students), the Salon des Refuses (an exhibition of the work not selected for the annual Juried Student Exhibition), the annual 4x4 Silent Art Auction, and the UW Art Alumni Speaker Series. In addition, SAL maintains and supports the SALivation Station, one of UW’s inaugural student food sharing cabinets. Located in the Visual Arts Building, the aim of the Station is to address issues of food insecurity so that students can get assistance with dignity and without fear of stigma.
Student Art League Meetings:
General Meetings: Tuesdays, 4 pm - Visual Arts Lobby

The Ceramic Art Guild is a Recognized Student Organization (RSO) at the University of Wyoming that provides a structure where students interested in ceramics work together to raise funding to offset travel expenses to the annual NCECA (National Council for Education in the Ceramic Arts) conference. The NCECA conference is an invaluable experience for all interested in ceramic art. Throughout the fall and part of the spring semesters, students make unique pieces that are auctioned during the Annual Benefit Silent Auction and sold at the spring Cup and Bowl sale.

Everyone and anyone is welcome, regardless of major and/or expertise. The WSS was created in the spring of 2011 and fosters the experimentation and art-making practices associated with working three-dimensionally in a variety of materials and processes. WSS meets every week and we create something new in 3 dimensions each meeting. A student does not need to be in a sculpture course to come play with those in the Wyoming Sculpture Society. The club has studio work days and dinner cookouts. Trips are planned that allow students to participate in sculpture activities including regional and national iron pours, conferences, and practicing artist studio visits. Hard work is encouraged and fun is facilitated.
