Academic Advising

At the College of Business, we understand the importance of guiding our students towards academic success and career readiness. Our dedicated team is here to provide you with comprehensive support and guidance throughout your academic journey. Whether you're preparing for course registration or seeking long-term academic planning, we're here to help you thrive.

Navigating Course Registration with Ease

Preparing for course registration can sometimes feel overwhelming, but fear not! Our Advising Assistants, trained College of Business students, are available to assist you with quick questions and ensure you're well-prepared for your advising appointment. From understanding degree evaluations to navigating prerequisites, our assistants are here to support you every step of the way.

To schedule an appointment with an Advising Assistant, simply email us at success@uwyo.edu.  They'll help you get ready for your advising session and ensure you're on track to meet your academic goals. Here are some other things that Advising Assistants can help with:

  • Preparation for Course Registration/PERC Advising appointment with your advisor.
  • Understanding your Degree Evaluation (and see what is missing!)
  • Work on Plan Ahead
  • Understanding Check Sheets
  • How to drop, add or withdraw from an individual course
  • Override form (link/completion)
  • Understanding/checking pre-requisites
  • General questions about the advising process

Guidance from your Advisor

Your advisor is your personal guide through your academic journey. Before your registration date, you'll receive an email from your College of Business Advisor with a unique Navigate link to schedule an appointment. During this meeting, you'll discuss your upcoming courses and receive your registration date, time, and PERC number.

Remember, appointments are scheduled based on your student status, so make sure to keep an eye on your inbox for important updates.

*NOTE: If ACES has been advising you, please disregard this information and contact your ACES advisor for your advising date and time.

Meetings will be set up both in person and on Zoom. If you are coming in person, please come 10-15 minutes early.

No Show Policy

We value your time and commitment to academic success. To ensure a smooth advising experience, please arrive 10-15 minutes early for in-person appointments or log in promptly for virtual meetings. Additionally, if you're unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please notify your advisor in advance to avoid being marked as a "no show." Failure to attend without prior notice may result in rescheduling and potential delays in course registration.
