Donald L. Veal

Donald L. Veal received a BS in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University in 1953. Following service as a pilot in the United States Air Force, he earned an MS in 1960 and PhD in 1964, both in Civil Engineering , from the University of Wyoming. Beginning in 1966 Dr. Veal was involved in development of airborne platforms for atmospheric research, including several generations of airborne data systems and techniques for interfacing atmospheric sensors. Don is internationally recognized for his work in airborne cloud and storm research, also having served as Director of the National Hail Research Experiment at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
