The University is resolute in its commitment to support survivors of sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking, to respond promptly to reports, and to investigate and adjudicate reports in a manner that is fair and equitable to all parties involved. To create a safe campus, it is important that everyone has accurate information about confidential resources and reporting options. When sexual and interpersonal violence is not reported or taken seriously, it cannot be effectively addressed. Many who experience sexual or interpersonal violence do not report it because they fear that nothing will happen or they will not be believed. The University takes all reports of sexual and interpersonal violence seriously and works with individuals to prevent and respond to retaliation. Those concerned about the impacts of reporting are encouraged to seek confidential assistance from SAFE Project. The University is also committed to continually assessing and improving its policies, prevention initiatives, and educational programs based on input from the campus community, research, best practice and regulatory guidance. The Sexual Misconduct Response Team (SMRT) meets on a regular basis to review our response, prevention and assessment strategies.
