    Ways to Help

    icons representing ways to help

    Share food

Share what you can, take what you need

Share food at a food share cabinet or the UW Food Share Pantry. Donations for the UW Food Share Pantry can be dropped off outside the Dean of Students Office (Knight Hall Room 128) or in the Wyoming Union across from the Information Desk.

    Suggested non-perishable items include:

    • Dry goods (i.e. rice, pasta)
    • Canned goods (i.e. beans, veggies, fruit, soup)
    • Shelf-Stable Produce (i.e. potatoes, apples, bananas)
    • Packaged Snacks (i.e. nuts, trail mix, granola bars)
    • Personal Items (i.e. toilet paper, menstrual products, toiletries)

Shelf-stable fresh fruit & produce, meat, cheese, and frozen items can also be dropped off to the UW Food Share Pantry during open hours.

Host a Food Drive to Benefit the Food Share Cabinets and UW Food Share Pantry

Alternatively, the SLCE Office frequently hosts food drives where you can share food.

End the Stigma Around Food Insecurity

Unfortunately, there is a stigma surrounding food insecurity. But you can be part of the solution. Talk to your friends and family about this major problem and work to create a culture of sharing food with others. Together we can create a culture of taking care of one another.

Volunteer at the UW Food Share Pantry

The UW Food Share Pantry is a great place for individuals and groups to volunteer their time. Contact the Dean of Students Office to find out more.

    Financially support food security initiatives

You can financially contribute to the UW Food Share Pantry. This helps purchase perishable items essential to the goal of providing healthy food options and nourishing the members of our campus community. Stay tuned for other ways you can financially support all food security efforts at UW!

    Support Food Security ASUW Legislation

If you are a student contact your ASUW representative to show your support for food security legislation.
