Your Company Match
Find out if your company matches gifts. These can be gifts made by employees or retirees, and your matching may double or even triple the impact of your gift!
Give Every Year
Every year, thousands of alumni, parents, and friends make repeat gifts to UW. These gifts range from small to large and can support any area of the university.
Crowdfunding
You Fund, UW’s crowdfunding platform, is home to many worthwhile projects that are often overlooked by traditional fundraising. Support your cause today or create a campaign!
Create an Endowment
Give a gift that grows. Endowments are invested by the UW Foundation to maximize return and to create steady annual income used to fund specific areas in perpetuity.
Plan Your Giving
Invest in the future of the University of Wyoming. Our team works closely and confidentially
with you and your legal, tax, and other advisers to come up with a plan that meets
your personal and financial goals.
Donor-Advised Funds
A donor-advised fund is a charitable giving account that provides an immediate tax
benefit. It allows you to fulfill your generosity by granting funds to charities of
your choice. It's a great way to manage your giving to UW and other charities simply
and efficiently.
QCDs
The IRS requires traditional IRA-holders 70 1/2 or older to withdraw money from their IRAs. Rather than income, a donation to UW is 100% tax free, even if you don't itemize (a Qualified Charitable Distribution). Thanks to our partnership with FreeWill, the gift is quick and hassle-free.
Other Tools
There are a lot of options that will help you satisfy your charitable giving goals
while also offering tax benefits and benefiting your family. Here's a list of ways
you can structure your estate.
Cash
Giving cash has an immediate impact on students at the University of Wyoming and the programs and faculty that support them. The easiest way to donate is by giving online. You can designate your area of support.
Securities
When you donate stock to UW, you’ll get a tax deduction for the full market value.
And because you are donating stock, you may be able to give more and reduce future
capital gains and it's tax-efficient.
Retirement/Life Ins.
Giving through your retirement plan or life insurance is easy. You can designate
UW as a beneficiary, either as sole beneficiary, a dollar amount, or a percentage
of assets.
Real Estate
Gifting real estate to UW can take a number of forms, depending on what you need. You can occupy the property or use a charitable remainder trust or gift annuity to convert a low-yielding high-appreciated property into income.
UW Giving Day
UW Giving Day celebrates philanthropy. For 24 hours, Wyoming comes together to support
the university that they love. Go Pokes!
Cryptocurrency
UW is one of the first universities to accept cryptocurrency donations, as well as educating students and performing research with a blockchain and cryptocurrency staking operation.
Tree and Bench
Your gift of a tree or bench on the UW campus enhances the beauty and versatility
of the UW grounds, a lasting tribute to you or the one you honor.
Goals To Consider
Perhaps you're not sure of everything that you can do with your contributions. Here's
a list of goals you might want to consider.
