- About UW
Because of UW Foundation President Ben Blalock's unique role in advancing the vision of the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center and his impact on UW, the UW Foundation Board honored him with the Ben Blalock Family Room, which serves as a welcoming space for students past, present, and future and for visitors to the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. Centrally located between the Admissions Center and the Alumni Association, it helps these divisions welcome all members of the UW family back to campus.
Just like in someone's home, the fireplace is the social center of the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center. It is a place to gather and celebrate the generous philanthropists who have made this building possible. It is also a place for friends and family to gather and celebrate achievements or reminisce or plan for the future. As the heart of building, it is also where we celebrate the impact Marian H. Rochelle has had on the facility. Her story is told at the fireplace, and her name rises three stories tall.
