UW's Tree and Bench ProgramConsider a Gift Worthy of Earth Day

.

Want to make an impact on campus, while also honoring a friend or loved one? The Tree and Bench Program could help you do that. Your gift for the University of Wyoming campus enhances the beauty and versatility of the UW grounds, and it is a living and lasting tribute to you as the donor and to the one you honor through your gift.

Whether it is a plaque, Victorian-style bench, picnic table, or deciduous or coniferous tree, the Tree and Bench Program is a particularly meaningful way to leave a little piece of yourself with your alma mater or to memorialize someone special in your life or the life of the university. Honor a graduating student or pay tribute to a favorite professor! It even makes a distinctive anniversary or birthday gift for those who hold UW dear.

“UW’s Tree and Bench Program has literally changed the landscape of the university, and after 16 years of existence, the results of the program are undeniable,” says Coordinator Alicia Smith.  “As students, faculty, staff, and visitors cross our campus, they will undoubtedly discover countless trees and benches that were purposefully given the University of Wyoming in honor or in memory of a donor’s loved one.

“We have trees all over campus that provide beauty and shade, and we have numerous benches that are enjoyed daily by those wishing to enjoy the fresh air, sunshine, and splendor of Laramie’s outdoors. Each tree and each bench represents a thoughtful and unique gift, given with the knowledge that it will be enjoyed for years to come and with the sole intent of paying tribute to someone’s life, career, or impact.”
