Summer Programs

GEAR UP participants currently in the 10th - 11th grade are invited to apply to participate in Camp GEAR UP Summer Academy at the University of Wyoming. 12th grade students may apply and will be put on a waitlist for any remaining spots. The academy will be held June  23-26, 2025.

Our theme this year will be Legends in the Making. Embark on an epic journey where every camper becomes a legend in the making! We will combine thrilling adventures, immersive challenges, and real-world preparation for college life. Campers will explore their unique talents, rise to challenges, and create lasting memories—all while developing the skills and knowledge needed for their next big step.

Important Dates:

March 14 – Applications are available

May 2 – Last day to submit your application

May 31 – All applicants will be notified if they were selected

• Selected applicants will receive additional information
• Site contact will arrange transportation to and from Laramie

June 23-26 Camp GEAR UP 2025

• June 23 - Students will travel with their site group to the University of Wyoming
• June 23 - Registration begins at 1PM
• June 26 - Camp completes with the Legends Ceremony
• June 26 - Students will leave for home with their site group at 1PM

Leadership Summit

The 2022 Leadership Summit was a success! Keep an eye out for announcements about future College Freshmen Leadership Summits so that you can participate in leadership training, college prep, outdoor activities, and more!

Who: Upcoming GEAR UP college freshman. Participants must have finalized their admission to a college or university inside or outside of Wyoming.

What: A 10-hour workshop series (spread out across three short days) that focuses on college transition, leadership development, financial aid, and college/career readiness.

Participating students will receive a financial stipend for their time and effort!
