Michele Fukawa

Michele joined the legal staff at the University of Wyoming in 2024. She is currently an Associate General Counsel. Michele is a Hawaiian native. She has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Reed College and graduated from Gonzaga School of Law in 2013. 

Previously, Michele spent time in Washington state working as an attorney for a local tribe and serving as Assistant Director for the Center for Civil and Human rights at Gonzaga School of Law and as a legal aid attorney in Iowa. 

Michele's duties in providing legal support and guidance to the University include, but are not limited to:

  • Immigration 

  • Civil rights, discrimination, and harassment

  • Sexual misconduct and violence 

  • Contract and policy review 

  • Student affairs
