ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

As a student in the Haub School, you’ll join a community of thoughtful future leaders who come together from diverse fields all across the University of Wyoming campus to share expertise and collaborate on solutions to thorny environment and natural resources challenges. Choose from our interdisciplinary, experiential, applied programs for undergraduate and graduate studies.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
For students seeking an introduction to the physical, biological, and human components of the Earth system through data collection, statistical analysis, information technology, and modeling.
This is an interdisciplinary environmental science degree focusing on the scientific methods, content, and tools you’ll need to succeed in an interconnected world.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Undergrad Major / Minor
By choosing to major in Environment & Natural Resources (ENR), you’ll work with students from across campus to learn critical thinking and collaborative problem solving for natural resource challenges. ENR understanding is relevant to every field of study—from biology to business, from public health to political science, from art to anthropology, and many more.
Two Options
Earn a bachelor of science in Environment & Natural Resources. This degree requires the addition of a concurrent major of your choosing, which can be any undergraduate degree program UW offers.
Or, add this concurrent major to any undergraduate degree program at UW.
Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
The BS in Outdoor Recreation & Tourism Management (ORTM) is designed for students who want to connect people to the outdoors in one of the West’s fastest-growing industries. You’ll gain understanding of business, people and culture, environment and natural resources, recreation, and tourism in the classroom and outside.
Students select a Concentration as an area of specialization:
- Business & Hospitality Management
- Cultural & International Tourism
- Outdoor Recreation Leadership
- Management of Recreation Resources
Undergrad Minor
Work with other students in the field and the classroom to problem solve, discuss ethics, develop outdoor skills, and practice decision making. Gain outdoor skills and earn certifications: Wilderness First Responder & CPR, Leave No Trace, and Behavioral First Responder.
Undergrad Minor
Gain a comprehensive understanding of sustainability principles and practices. Address environmental, social, and economic challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Graduate Major / Minor
The ENR graduate major or minor are completed in tandem with any UW graduate degree.
ENR graduates will understand and evaluate the relationship of their primary discipline to other environmental fields to address the complexity of environmental challenges.
Master of Science (M.S.) Traditional or Online Professional Program
MS ENRS graduates will be prepared to lead collaborative, cross-sector initiatives in natural resource management, planning, and administration across nonprofit, corporate, government, and academic organizations.
Juris Doctor & Master of Arts
Offered by the University of Wyoming College of Law and the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources, this concurrent degree program results in two degrees in three or three and a half years. JD/MA students collaborate across campus to practice critical thinking and collaborative problem solving for natural resource challenges.
Graduate Certificate
Flexible, asynchronous programs designed for working professionals and graduate students who want to build real-world skills and strengthen expertise in high-demand areas: Collaborative Practice, ENR Law & Policy, and Global Environmental Futures (coming soon).
