On-Campus Interviews

Wyoming Map Icon

Each semester a number of employers interview students on campus for internships and post-graduate employment. Interested employers may contact the Career & Professional Development Office to coordinate OCI services, such as job postings, resume collections, and interview scheduling. All OCI opportunities are advertised to all students on UW Career Connections (Symplicity). Interview times and dates for selected applicants may be scheduled by the employer directly with the student or through the Career Services Office.  Formal Fall OCI opportunities will be held during the business week (Monday-Friday) during the month of September, with Spring OCI held during February.  We are also happy to welcome employers throughout the academic year. Read here for more on our OCI policies.

Employers will receive the OCI invitation email during the summer for Fall OCI, and during December for Spring OCI.

To better assist employers, we ask that you consider filling out a Firm Profile so we can help advertise your firm effectively to specific students who best fit your firm's needs.

Externship Posting

There is an application for a potential supervisor to fill out if you would like to have an extern in your office. All externships must be in a judicial, governmental or non-profit organization. If you would like to have an extern in your office, please fill out the Field Supervisor Application form and return it to Tim Crawford at tcrawfo4@uwyo.edu for review. Upon receipt, our office will notify the supervisor and student of the status of their application and the necessary next steps.

Regulations

Rule 9

The Wyoming State Bar provides a way for students to get "real-world" experience prior to graduation. Rule 9 states that a student may practice in court as a normal attorney under the direct supervision of their supervising attorney. This gives an extern the incredible opportunity to get exposure to the court system, practice making an argument to the court, and allows the supervisor to give meaningful feedback and mentorship early in a young lawyer's career. It is encouraged that field supervisors participate and provide these opportunities to their externs, when appropriate.
