Defender Aid Clinic

Student Clinic Director: Luke Dainty

I grew up in Frontenac, Kansas, which is right on the border of the Kansas/Missouri state line. I completed my undergraduate degree at Missouri State University in religious studies, where I focused on the sociological impact of religion and the emergence of new religious movements. After several years in the building industry, including a three-year stint in north Texas with Habitat for Humanity, my wife and I moved to Laramie for law school. We have loved the community, Wyoming’s many outdoor opportunities, and the incredible people we’ve encountered at UW.

After graduation, I hope to become a public defender in my home community of the Ozarks. I have a heart for people, and I strongly believe in addressing individual needs, harm reduction, and the abolition of the prison industrial complex. Outside of law school, you can find me fishing, exploring the mountains, doing handyman/mechanic work, thrifting, and spending time with my wife, Mackenzie, and two pets: a cat named Charlie and a dog named Wally.
