Speed Networking Helps Students Jump Start Careers

Students expanded their professional network at a Speed Networking event September 29 organized by the Office of Career Services and Development. Nearly 30 legal professionals met with College of Law students to share their experiences in large and small firms, nonprofits, policy management, the judiciary, government, business and industry. The evening began with small-setting interview-style meetings, with groups of three to four student participants meeting each group of two to four legal professionals. The pace slowed when all gthered for a reception where participants talked further about shared interests.

The Office of Career Services and Development also hosts employers on campus each spring and fall to interview students for positions ranging from summer internships to associate employment. Skills trainings ranging from what to wear to where to start and JAG information sessions are offered throughout the school year, as is one-on-one resume help and career counseling.
