The Wyoming Conservation Corps needs to fill 24 crew member slots for the summer. Applications are due March 28. For more information, call (307) 766-6436 or e-mail wcc@uwyo.edu.
A crew member position involves working and living outdoors with a group to complete
six 10-day projects throughout the summer. Crews work on projects ranging from trail
construction and maintenance to reclamation and rehabilitation of public lands, at
sites throughout Wyoming. The WCC provides workers with food, transportation, tools
and camping equipment while working on projects.
As WCC members, students become AmeriCorps members and are eligible for a $1,250
education award and a $3,250 living stipend. Students can also receive one upper-division
environment and natural resources course credit at no cost for completing the WCC
class as part of the term of service. Health insurance is also available.
Applicants with an interest in forestry will have an opportunity to complete field
experience in forestry work as part of one crew, and they should specify this interest
in their applications.
