Wyoming native Spencer Bohren will give a free concert Wednesday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Union ballroom.
The concert, which is open to the public, is sponsored by the ASUW Student Activities Council and the World Music Series Program.
Bohren plays a wide variety of music that has been compared with Earl King, Clifton Chenier or James Booker. He created a gospel album that the New Orleans Times-Picayune named the "Best CD of the Year 2000 by a Louisiana Artist."
Born in Casper, Bohren says has been singing for as long as he can remember. His family sang gospel music in churches, schools and nursing homes around the state. He was given his first guitar at age 14 and, from then on, dreamed of becoming a traveling folk singer.
Bohren has performed throughout the United States and recently has performed in France, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Italy and Germany.
