The award-winning Belle Donne Piano Duo will perform, "Brazil: New Sounds for Four Hand Piano Literature," Saturday, March 29, at 7:30 p.m., in the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Center concert hall.

The concert will feature Portuguese pianist Alexandra Mascolo-David and UW music faculty member and Brazilian pianist Rubia Santos delivering not only the musical sounds of Brazil, but also an informal introduction to the compositions and Brazilian culture. The duo will follow the concert with an invited performance at the 2008 Music Teachers National Association Conference in Denver April 1.
The duo has performed in China, Italy and the United States and contributed to in "Moyugba Orisha," a compact disc released by the White Pine Music recording label in 2007 featuring music of Latin America for piano and cello and for piano and viola.
Mascolo-David is a widely acclaimed pianist who has performed and led workshops and master classes in Europe, China and the Americas, including a well-received New York debut recital at Carnegie Hall in May 2004.
Santos has lectured and performed as a soloist and collaborative pianist in the Americas, Europe, and China. Her compact recording, "A Brazilian Collection," with trumpeter Luis Engelke, has been highly praised for its invigorating and innovative repertoire.
