For its Aug. 30 season opener against Ohio University, the University of Wyoming is calling for its students, alumni, faculty and staff and fans to wear UW merchandise Friday, Aug. 29.
College Colors Day, which coincides with both "back to campus" and the kickoff of intercollegiate athletics, strives to promote higher education through increased public awareness, says Kevin McKinney, UW senior associate athletics director.
"College Colors Day is quickly becoming an annual dress-down day where individuals show their school spirit for companies and organizations across the country - a casual Friday the day before the first full Saturday of the college football season," he says.
