University of Wyoming trustees approved the following personnel appointments during their business meeting Friday:

Legal Affairs
Susan Weidel as general counsel. Weidel received a B.S. (1978) in American studies from the Roosevelt University and the J.D. (1983) from DePaul College of Law.
Rod Lang as deputy general counsel. Lang received a B.A. in international studies (1972), a masters in public administration (1978), and a J.D. (1983) from the University of Wyoming. In addition, he holds a diploma in African studies from the University of Edinburgh and a masters in library Science from Denver University.
Teresa Nelson as associate general counsel. Nelson received a B.S. (2002) in molecular biology and a J.D. (2006) from the University of Wyoming.
Government and Community Affairs
Don Richards as director of government and community affairs. Richards received a B.S. (1995) in mathematics and economics from the University of Wyoming and an M.A. (2003) in political management from The George Washington University.

Axel Garcia y Garcia as assistant professor in the Department of Plant Sciences. Garcia y Garcia received a B.Sc. (1991) in agronomy/cropping systems from the University of San Carlos, and an M.Sc. (1997) in irrigation and drainage and a Ph.D. (2002) in agronomy/crop sciences from the University of Sao Paulo.
Brian Mealor as assistant professor in the Department of Plant Sciences. Mealor received a B.M. (1999) in biology from North Georgia College and State University, an M.S. (2003) and a Ph.D. (2006) in rangeland ecology and watershed management from the University of Wyoming.

Scott A. Meredith as assistant professor in the Department of Music. Meredith received a B.M. (1996) in trumpet performance from the University of Northern Colorado, an M.M. (2003) and a DMA (2008) in trumpet performance from the University of Texas.

George A. Kamberelis as professor in the Department of Secondary Education. Kamberelis received a B.A. (1976) in philosophy and religion from Bates College, an M.A. (1979) in literature and religion from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. (1993) in education and psychology from the University of Michigan.

Jessica C. Burch as clinical assistant professor in the School of Pharmacy. She received a B.A. (2000) in biochemistry from Colorado College and Pharm.D. (2006) at Midwestern University, Glendale Ariz.
