Tickets are on sale now for a University of Wyoming-sponsored trip to Steamboat Springs, Colo., Thursday, July 15.
The bus will leave the Wyoming Union parking lot at 8 a.m. and will arrive back in
Laramie around 6 p.m. Tickets, available at the Wyoming Union information desk, cost
$10 for UW students and $15 for non-students. The tickets include transportation to
and from Steamboat and rides on the gondola and alpine slide that usually cost $36.
Steamboat Springs ski resort offers many outdoor activities, says Julianne Friesen,
Campus Activities Center (CAC) student programmer.
"You can hike or mountain bike on scenic trails, experience nature and shop in the downtown area," she says. "You can ride a gondola to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Yampa Valley and then cruise down the 2,400-foot controlled descent through banked turns on the steep face of the alpine slide."
The CAC sponsors the trip as part of its summer programs schedule. More details on what to do at Steamboat can be found at www.steamboat.com/index.aspx.
