Public Radio News Directors Inc. recently presented two awards to Wyoming Public Radio News. The awards are the highest honors given to public radio news departments in the United States.
WPR earned first place in best writing for a story written and produced by reporter Addie Goss, the third time WPR has received a best writing award from PRNDI. News Director Bob Beck noted the judges loved how the story allowed the listener "to see the ranch in their mind."
WPR's Open Spaces received its fourth consecutive PRNDI for best news and public affairs program, earning second place in the national competition.
"The entire news staff works long hours to produce each show and the award tells us that our commitment to excellence is noticed," Beck said.
