A regional professional association has presented one of its highest honors to University of Wyoming Registrar Tammy Aagard.
She received the Distinguished Member Award presented by the board of directors of the Rocky Mountain Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (RMACRAO). The award recognizes "the strong and continued support and commitment to service that Tammy has demonstrated to the association and its members during her continued time working at the University of Wyoming."
In addition to participating in at least 15 of the association's annual meetings, Aagard has served on the association's the board of directors in several different capacities, including president, and was chair of the local arrangements committee when the association held its annual meeting in Laramie in 2008. She currently serves on the Nominations and Elections Committee of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.
Aagard has and continues to mentor many members of the association. She demonstrates a commitment to helping the profession grow by giving insightful and thought-provoking presentations at regional and national conferences, and makes site visits and presents topics and ideas directly to the registrars' offices at several collegiate institutions in the region.
"As a former member of RMACRAO, I know this award is the highest honor the association can bestow upon one of its members," says Sara Axelson, vice president for student affairs. "Tammy's dedication to the association is a direct result of her desire to improve the function and service of the Office of the Registrar. I congratulate her on this achievement and thank her for her continued commitment to supporting the students, faculty and staff of the University of Wyoming."
