
The University of Wyoming Summit Chamber Players will perform with renowned Brazilian violist Glesse Collet Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the UW Fine Arts concert hall. Tickets, $7.50 for the public and $5.50 for students and seniors, are available at the Fine Arts box office.
The program includes works by Brazilian composers Villani Cortes and Edino Krieger, plus Robert Schuman's "Piano Quartet." The Summit Chamber Players members are John Fadial, violin; Beth Vanderborgh, cello; and Theresa Bogard, piano.
A member of the University of Brasilia's Department of Music faculty since 1993, Collet teaches the viola, chamber music and orchestra practice classes. She has led the string orchestra since 2002.
Collet is one of the founding members of the Quarteto de Brasília (Brasília Quartet), which has performed in the Americas, Europe and Asia. The group recorded eight CDs and received the Sharp Prize for the "best classical music CD" of 1993.
