Comedy Central on Campus will host comedians Rory Scovel, Chelsea Peretti and Theo Von, Friday, April 13, in the University of Wyoming Union Ballroom. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 9 p.m. The event is free.
Scovel mixes his spontaneous creativity and absurd view of the world. Whether discussing drugs, politics, or life in general, he shifts the vibe of any room and places the audience in the scene of every punch line. Last year, he made his television debut on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." He recently was featured on "The John Oliver Show for Comedy Central" as well as "Conan."
Peretti is a writer on the Emmy-nominated NBC show "Parks and Recreation." Previously, she wrote for "The Sarah Silverman Program" as well as various other shows, including the "MTV Movie Awards." She regularly performs at venues around Los Angeles, including the Improv, Largo and The Comedy Store.
Von is one of the fastest rising stars of stand-up comedy. He is the genius behind "CrankTexts.com," a website where he texts random numbers and has conversations with total strangers. CrankTexts was a weekly featured article on "College Humor." "CrankTexts.com" has had 10 million page views and averages 18 clicks per visit. He currently headlines comedy clubs every weekend across the country.
The event is sponsored by the Campus Activities Center along with Concerts and Convocations, Friday Night Fever and Student Activities Center. Individuals needing assistance to attend can call the SAC at (307) 766-6340. For more information about Concerts and Convocations, visit www.uwyo.edu/concerts.
