New University of Wyoming music department faculty member Chi-Chen Wu will be joined by string faculty members John Fadial, Beth Vanderborgh and James Pryzgocki for a recital at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, in the Fine Arts concert hall. The performance is free and open to the public.
The program, titled "Fantasy for Piano and Strings,” showcases solo piano works by Scriabin, Schumann and Faure's piano quartet. Wu's performance features historically important solo piano and chamber music repertoire from the mid-19th to the first half of the 20th century.
Wu, in her first semester at UW, previously taught at the National Taiwan Normal University, Cornell University and Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. She has appeared as recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist in the United States, Canada, France, Spain, Japan and her home country of Taiwan.
