“Exhibit, A Westward Flow” by artist Jon Young is on display through Thursday, Nov. 6, in Gallery 234, located in the lower level of the University of Wyoming Union.
Young, a UW graduate, specializes in large-scale charcoal drawings and mixed-media sculpture.
His latest exhibition combines delicate and detailed drawings with minimal and poetic sculptures. The merging of the disparate themes explores figural movement, architectural inspirations and the relationship between man and nature.
“My current body of work investigates water as it compares to the human form, this is done by dissecting both figure and water out of their original context and placing them together in juxtaposing and symbolic positions,” Young says.
